This unique and wonderfully entertaining, family friendly festival has it all...face painting, carnival rides and games, a beer garden and food galoremedieval and Shakespearean plays, artisan crafts and demonstrations, street performers, jousting tournaments and knight battles, medievil museums. Dress up and experience midievil times in Tahoe.

Enter a world of magic, mayhem and merriment at the Valhalla Renaissance Faire, a whimsical recreation of Elizabethan England in South Lake Tahoe, California. Taking place over a month in early summer, the event features olde world entertainment in a beautiful green environment. Enjoy performances by roving jesters, archery tournaments, epic jousts and lively plays. Take a stroll through the maze, enjoy spirited music or rub elbows with elegant lords and ladies. Pirates and barbarian hordes make appearances at this interactive event, and a variety of merchants peddle everything from jewelry and crafts to weapons and leather goods.

America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride

Nearly 3,000 cyclists from throughout the United States come to Tahoe to ride around the Lake. 

Bike the West and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society invite you to participate in the 26th annual America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride, one of the most scenic and awe-inspiring rides you will ever experience. Spectacular scenery, clean mountain air, great food and fully supported by experienced ride organizers makes this ride is a ‘must do’ for any avid recreational bicyclist.  Please check their equipment policy for restrictions or approval.

The Thunderbird is Lake Tahoe's most scenic paddle. The start is at the beautiful Sand Harbor beach, a Nevada State Park. The sandy beach gives way to Tahoe's most beautiful paddling area featuring clear water, large franite boulders, epic Sierra veiws, and the historic Thunderbird Lodge. 

Event begins at 6:00AM and the paddlers paddle until 11:00AM.

Tough Mudder is a team-oriented 10-12 mile (18-20 km) obstacle course designed to test physical strength and mental grit. Tough Mudder puts camaraderie over finisher rankings and is not a timed race but a team challenge that allows participants to experience exhilarating, yet safe, world-class obstacles they won't find anywhere else.

The Squaw Valley Half Marathon starts and finishes at the iconic Village At Squaw Valley, site of the historic 1960 Winter Olympics. The course is fast and flat, a scenic out and back featuring mainly paved trail through the valley and along the Truckee River. During the route keep an eye out for bald eagles, mule deer and trout leaping out of the river all while enjoying the cool, refreshing sierra air.

You will be supported by five aid stations along the course which will have water, electrolyte beverage and a variety of fruit and snacks.  At the finish we will have the music pumping, a selection of recovery foods and some ice cold Lagunitas beer and soda to celebrate your accomplishment.

Stick around to cheer on the other runners and relax in the Village while enjoying a perfect Squaw Sunday afternoon.  This one you will not want to miss!

Race start is located at the East Side of the Village.  Look for our white registration trailer and iconic Tahoe Trail Running finish arch.

In addition to Tahoe City’s distinctive charms – including convenient lake access, acclaimed artists, fabulous restaurants and notable shops and galleries you can celebrate summer at the Thursday Farmers Market, Solstice Stroll Classic Car Show on Friday, Saturday Tahoe City Wine Walk and Sunday’s Concert at Commons Beach are annual Solstice Festival highlights.

The Tahoe City Solstice Festival, June 15-18, may be the best place to celebrate Father’s Day at the lake. Many people take the opportunity to shop and wrap up the day with dinner in Tahoe City. It’s going to be a great Solstice Weekend in Tahoe City!

Enjoy all of the fan favorites including; two world-class team roping events, professional bull riding, team roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing and bronc riding. The exciting western action features an authentic cattle drive, parade, Double R Marketplace for western shopping, food, carnival and Mutton Bustin’.   

The "Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West," the Reno Rodeo is a 10-day event. The Reno Rodeo is a PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) sanctioned sporting event. Reno Rodeo is a non-profit organization made up over 500 volunteers. Over 140,000 fans will be in attendance for the 4th richest PRCA tour rodeo. The event impacts the Reno/Sparks area economy with $42 million going to hotels, casinos, restaurants and retail. The Reno Rodeo has been nationally televised on CBS Sports, Fox Sports Net, Versus, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN Classic.

The Village at Squaw Valley is paying tribute to man – and woman’s – best friend with the 8th Annual Peaks and Paws Festival. Dogs and their Masters can enjoy 2 days of live music, delicious food, and wine and beer tasting (people only!) amid Squaw Valley’s stunning mountain setting. The festival also includes a dog-friendly guided hike up the mountain, an array of specialty product pet vendors and a dock jumping competition with Splash Dogs. All of the proceeds from the festival will benefit the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe
