Tahoe Time Lapse: KT-22 Opening Day - Jan. 6, 2017
The recently relaunched SquawCam, located at the base of Palisades Tahoe, recently captured this dynamic time lapse sequence on the opening day of the season for KT-22, Palisades Tahoe's world renowned peak and chairlift.
The time lapse sequence captures the scene from sunrise to sunset, following a powerful early January storm that left up to 7 feet of fresh snow on Palisades Tahoe's slopes. As the sun rose and graced the peaks of KT-22 on what was to be a classic 'bluebird' powder day, crews worked to completed snow safety efforts and clear the way to open the lift to a throng of eager skiers and snowboarders.
The new SquawCam, taking the name of it's predecessor, the original SquawCam at High Camp on the upper mountain, has been made possible by the support and sponsorship of The Inn Shop Ski & Board Rentals, PlumpJack Squaw Valley Inn, Olympic Bootworks, and Tahoetopia.com.
