TAHOE CITY, Calif. (May 25, 2021) - Long standing local events are finally scheduled to return to Tahoe City, California this summer, signaling a return to “normal” for visitors and locals alike. The Tahoe City Downtown Association announced today that the 15th Annual Tahoe City Solstice Festival, an event that celebrates the start of the summer season at Lake Tahoe, will return this year.
Jake's On the Lake is known for it's lakefront dining and incredible sunset views. It is also the location of one of Tahoetopia's longest-running webcams. This Tahoe Time Lapse was captured innocently enough on a quiet Sunday in May (May 23, 2021 to be exact) and delivers a dynamic view of the day's meteorlogical phenomena, capped off with a short, sweet Sierra sunset. Enjoy!
P.S.: Check back any evening year round to catch and cherish a Tahoe Sunset in real time.

LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev. – As a reminder, backcountry visitors should practice proper food and garbage storage and behave appropriately when hiking and backpacking in Bear Country. This summer, wilderness rangers report bears are successfully taking down food-hangs in Desolation Wilderness. Once bears become habituated to human food and garbage they will return and seek it out. Agencies highly recommend using bear resistant canisters when visiting the backcountry.
