Ample early season snowfall has put ski season in to high gear, and Palisades Tahoe | Alpine Meadows, two of Tahoe's top mountains have announced an early opening scheduled for this week, with Alpine opening on Thursday, Nov. 12th and Palisades Tahoe on Saturday, November 14th. The announcement brings the current total resort open for the coming weekend to six, including Palisades Tahoe, Alpine Meadows, Northstar, Heavenly, Mt. Rose, and Boreal Mountain.

Two recent early-season storms, combined with ideal cold temperatures and extensive snowmaking efforts have prompted officials at Heavenly Mountain Resort and Northstar California resort to give the green light to open for the season a week early, on Saturday, November 14th.
