Tahoe Cup Paddle Race Series Continues July 15th

2016 Tahoe Cup

The 2017 Tahoe Cup paddle race series continues with its second event, the ‘Waterman's Paddle Jam’, on Saturday, July 15th, with competitors paddling on a 6-mile, out and-back race from Waterman's Landing in Carnelian Bay.

The Waterman's Paddle Jam, formerly known as the Jam From The Dam, is the second event in the Tahoe Cup, a three-event series that attracts hundreds of competitors of all ability levels from near and far, from recreational paddlers to elite racers.

The race is open to all types of paddling craft and paddlers of all abilities and will start at 9am at Waterman's Landing.  The six-mile race will take competitors from Waterman's Landing out on to Lake Tahoe and back to the finish.

Spectators and those interested in the growing paddle sports scene are welcome. The start/finish area, always a festive atmosphere, will include a variety of vendors and free SUP demos.

For competitors, advance online registration is available at www.tahoecup.org. Race day registration will begin at 7:30am at Waterman's Landing.

'Keike Challenge' Kid's Race
After the Paddle Jam race, Waterman’s Landing will host the annual Keike Challenge, a free-to-participate standup and prone paddlboard race for kids under age 11. Participants must provide their gear, including an approved PFD (Personal Floatation Device) and complete a liability release signed by a parent or guardian.

The Tahoe Cup race series, hosted by the Lake Tahoe Paddleboard Association (LTPA), features three events throughout the summer - the Donner Lake race (in May), the Waterman's Paddle Jam in  July, and the Tahoe Fall Classic lake crossing in September.
