Tahoe City Days Celebrates Community & History
Tahoe City turns 154 on Tuesday, August 8th, and in celebration of the occasion, the annual Tahoe City Days brings together community and visitors in a series of fun events and activities.
On August 8, 1863, Tahoe City was surveyed and recorded. Following a highly acclaimed 150th Anniversary celebration in 2013, the annual Tahoe City Day has expanded to an annual multi-day celebration, with a variety of events and activities. Locals and visitors are invited to join in the fun!

Friday, August 4th
Tahoe City Poker Run Pub Crawl - On Friday night, August 4th, a unique Poker Run/Bar Crawl will be happening at participating Tahoe City restaurants. The Tahoe City Poker Prowl, sponsored by Blue Agave, will start at 7pm with check-in in the Blue Agave bar area. Participants will then draw a playing card at each participating bar. The best hands win great prizes. Cost is $10 per hand. Bring friends and have some fun.
Blue Agave Tahoe City Totem Resurrection Benefit - Blue Agave, 7-10pm. They're back! The two iconic and enormous hand-carved totems, similar to the ones that sat in front of the Tahoe Inn for decades, will return to new perches at the Blue Agave/Tahoe Inn building this fall. In celebration, the Blue Agave has themed their "First Friday" party to reflect the occasion.
Saturday, August 5th
Mountain Town Walking Tours - Free walking tours of Tahoe City, featuring stories, highlights and landmarks of Tahoe City's past. Meet at Gatekeeper's Museum at 10am.
Tahoe City Historic Golf Scramble - Saturday’s featured event is the Tahoe City Historic Golf Scramble at the Tahoe City Golf Course. Play a 9-hole scramble against all of your favorite friends. 2pm at Tahe City Golf Course.
Sunday, August 6th
Concerts On Commons Beach - This weekend’s concert features the musical wizardry of Lebo & Friends. Bring a low back chair, food & drink, and settle in for some great music, dancing and free fun. The music starts at 4pm. Go to www.concertsatcommonsbeach.com for more information.
Monday August 7th
Gatekeeper's Museum Lecture - Carol Van Etten. 5:30pm.
Tahoe Maritime Museum Lecture - Randy Walker and Mary Jo Shepherd. Runabout Racing on Tahoe.” Randy Walker and Mary Jo Shepard will discuss racing family runabouts on Lake Tahoe, originally begun by the Tahoe Yacht Club in 1925. 5:00pm at Tahoe Maritime Museum.
Tuesday August 8th
Start the day listening to the Ringing of the Bell at Christ The King Lutheran Church on Dollar Hill.
In the evening,at 7pm, head to the Clubhouse at the Tahoe City Golf Course for the official Tahoe City Day Celebration, including fun and games and a "Throwback" movie screening of: Hot Dog: The Movie (Rated R)
