Local Celebrities Set To Hit The Links In Benefit Tournament
The Palisades Tahoe Institute's annual benefit fundraiser Celebrity Golf Tournament returns to Resort at Squaw Creek on Monday, September 28th, featuring local celebrities, a variety of wacky play and antics, and an opening Skydiving demonstration.

TAHOE/TRUCKEE, CA — Grab a few friends (or a couple of hitchhikers), your best collared shirt (or plaid golf knickers), and channel your inner Rory McIlroy (or Happy Gilmore) and head to the Resort at Squaw Creek in Olympic Valley at 10am on September 28, 2015 for the Palisades Tahoe Institute’s 4th Annual Local Celebrity Golf Tournament.
This low-pressure day of fun and fundraising emphasizes teamwork and friendly competition with a splash of humor, while giving participants the opportunity to meet and engage with a variety of the region’s most interesting celebrities all while enjoying the outdoors and an afternoon of golf.
The tournament will be a 'scramble' format, so participants need not be incredible golfers to play and have fun. The rules are simple; teams of four plus a celebrity, scramble format, every player must use at least one drive, no speeding, kicking, biting, chasing geese or skinny-dipping.
Local Tahoe celebrities tentatively scheduled to participate include; 4-time Olympic alpine and freestyle skier Daron Rahlves, Olympic Gold Medal freestyle skier Jonny Moseley, 3-time Olympic Gold Medal swimmer Debbie Myer, Olympic alpine skier Starr Walton-Hurley, Hot Dog movie actress Debbie Dutton, 7- time X-Games gold medal and 3- time Olympic boarder-cross rider Nate Holland, The Deadliest Catch’s Monte Colburn, 4-time World Cup title winner and 3-time Olympian Tamara McKinney, Olympic speed-skier Jeff Hamilton, plus pro-skier turned rock star Matt Reardon who currently moonlights as Executive Director of the Palisades Tahoe Institute.
In thrilling Palisades Tahoe fashion, the celebrity air force kicks things off with a sky diving extravaganza as they perform their signature adrenaline pumping aerial stunts while flying over and landing on the green at the Links at Squaw Creek. Featured skydivers include JT Holmes, Miles Dashier, Charles Bryan and John Devore.
Prizes are awarded to the top three teams and mulligans are available for purchase. Additional contests feature closest to the pin, most lost balls, a couple of random physical challenges, the marshmallow long drive, the putting contest, the flop wall and the hole-in-one contest for the Grand Prize golf vacation to Bandon Dunes. There will also be a raffle and silent auction with items from celebrities and sponsors.
The entry fee is $150 per individual or $500 per foursome. Cost includes: 18-holes of entertaining golf, a gourmet box lunch served at the event followed by an appetizer reception and awards ceremony in Restaurant Montagna after the tournament. Participants also receive a tournament swag bag to include: a commemorative golf shirt and athletic socks from Incrediwear, SVI logo hat, a sleeve of golf balls and much more.
