Food & Wine Classic Anchors Summer Solstice Festival In Tahoe City

Tahoe City Food & Wine Classic - June 16th, 2018

Tahoe City's Food & Wine Classic is the centerpiece of the annual Solstice Festival weekend, taking place June 15th through 17th, ushering in the summer season and ongoing events and activities along the shores of North Lake Tahoe. The weekend's activities include the Food & Wine Classic, a lakeshore Farmer’s Market, a Classic Car Stroll, the opening weekend of the Alpenglow Mountain Festival, and the first concert of the 12-week, summer-long Commons Beach Concerts.

One of Tahoe City’s signature events and a fundraiser for the non-profit Tahoe City Downtown Association, the 13th annual Tahoe City Food & Wine Classic (formerly known as the Tahoe City Wine Walk) will return to the shoreline of Lake Tahoe Saturday, June 16 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Presented by Oliver Luxury Real Estate, this alfresco event features more than 30 tasting locations that highlight varietals from area wine producers and gourmet bites from top North Lake Tahoe restaurants and caterers. Attendees can sip, shop and take in stunning views of Lake Tahoe as they stroll down North Lake Boulevard in downtown Tahoe City.

In addition to fine wines, the event also includes craft brews and spirits, as well as non-alcoholic tasting options. Tahoe City’s boutique stores will be open for shopping, and live music will provide entertainment and dancing.

“Now in its 13th year, the Tahoe City Food & Wine Classic has evolved from a wine tasting event to include some of the phenomenal cuisine offered by world-class restaurants and caterers, and introduce residents and visitors to some of the boutique shops that are part of our mountain community,” said JT Chevallier, Tahoe City Downtown Association executive director. “It has become a popular kick-off to summer event at the lake, and as it sold out last year, we encourage attendees to purchase tickets in advance.”

Participating wineries include Rombauer, Crystal Basin Cellars, Ferrari - Carano Vineyards and Winery, Madrona Vineyards, Irish Vineyards, Lagunitas Brewing Company and many more. Gourmet bites will be offered by Jake’s on the Lake, Fat Cat Bar & Grill, Garwoods, Sunnyside Restaurant & Lodge, Wolfdale’s and others. The complete list of participants will continue to be updated online at www.TahoeCityWineWalk.com.

Wine Walk tickets are $45 per person in advance and $50 day-of. Ticket price includes admittance, wine, beer, spirits and non-alcoholic tastings (for participants 21 years and over), commemorative wine glass, delicious bite-sized morsels, live music and complimentary on-site parking.
