Donner Lake Race Launches Paddle Season at Tahoe
The 2017 summer paddle season gets off to a fast start with the opening event in the Tahoe Cup Paddle Race Series, the Donner Lake Race, being held at Donner Lake on Saturday, May 27th.
The first of the three-event Tahoe Cup Race Series, the Donner Lake Race welcomes hundreds of competitors of all ability levels, from recreational paddlers to elite racers, on all form of paddle craft.
The race starts at 9am from the West End Beach (the Pavilion area) in a 5-mile sprint race around the shoreline of Donner Lake.
The start/finish area is open to spectators and will include a festive atmosphere and free SUP demos provided by Willard's Sport Shop and the Sports Hub.

The Tahoe Cup Paddle Racing Series, is presented by the Lake Tahoe Paddleboard Association (LTPA), features three events throughout the summer and fall, #1 Donner Lake Race on May 21st, #2 Waterman’s Paddle Jam on July 9th, and #3 Fall Classic on September 11th.
