MountainFilm Tour To Kick Off Alpenglow Mountain Festival
Alpenglow Sports kicks off the 2018 Winter Mountain Festival with Mountainfilm on Tour, presented by FlyLow Gear. Join the North Lake Tahoe shop at Palisades Tahoe’s Olympic Village Inn on Saturday, February 17th at 6:15pm for a culturally rich, adventure-packed, and awe-inspiring series of documentary films curated from the Mountainfilm Festival in Telluride, Colorado.
Mountainfilm’s mission is to use the power of film, art, and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world. This picture-packed evening will serve as an opener for this season’s Alpenglow Sports Mountain Festival, the twice-yearly, nine-day celebration of human-powered mountain sports with over 70 individual events. Mountainfilm and Mountain Festival share a common goal: inspiring people to get outside and experience the richness that the outdoors has to offer.
Whenever and wherever Mountainfilm is on tour, their aim is to educate and inspire beyond the theatre audience. Their educational outreach program, Mountainfilm for Students, introduces students in K-12 public schools to environmental, cultural, and social issues with age-appropriate film programs. In that same vein, during this event, prizes from sponsors will be raffled off, benefitting Adventure Risk Challenge, a local organization whose mission is to empower underserved youth through integrated literacy and wilderness experiences.
