The 7th Annual Guitarfish Music Festival, one of the premier family-friendly music festivals on the west coast, returns to Cisco Grove on Donner Summit July 27th - 30th.

Guitarfish is an intimate affair, a music-lover’s campout in the High Sierra, where lasting friendships are created, the element of belonging is tangible, and the experience is real.  

 The 2017 performance lineup features virtuosic soul-funk from The Main Squeeze, the “Hendrix of the Sahara” Viewx Farka Touré, the high energy rock & reggae-soul of Thievery Corporation frontmen, See-I, the transcendent progressive intergalactic wizardry of House of Hamsa, the gritty raw funk of Katdelic, the super fresh funk-tronica of Greener Grounds, big, bouncy breaks by the All Good Funk Alliance, the otherworldly grooves of Liberation Movement, the new-grassy folktronica of Kuinka, the Soul-Folk-Acapella of Sirens of Soul, the Prince-meets-Stevie Wonder soul-funk of Gene Evaro Jr. and many more.

Kids 10 and under attend the festivals for free, and young ones aged 11-16 get in for half price. Kidsville, a special section of the Guitarfish pop-up town just for kids,  is action packed. Kidsville is brimming with interactive, hands-on projects happening throughout each day. Activities include hooping classes, creation station projects, drum circles, music performances, and free-range art.

Prime mountain biking trails, a full spectrum of yoga classes, lounging in the natural swimming holes, circus performers, music playshops and a World Market further inspire and intrigue.

Mother Nature makes a wildly positive impression at Guitarfish where you can discover your new favorite band and make new friends in the mountain forest by the South Yuba River. The Cisco Grove Campground is nestled in the Sierras, over a mile high, offering cool summer temps, a myriad of hiking and biking options, a natural amphitheater for a music bowl, swimming in the Yuba River, and forested shade for camping. An idyllic spot for a ‘summer camp for music lovers.
