Solstice Festival Shines Summertime in Tahoe City
Though the actual summer Solstice isn't until Monday, June 20th, Tahoe City's Solstice Festival ushers in the summer season in North Lake Tahoe with a host of events and activities including fine art, food, wine, classic cars, concerts and outdoor competitions and adventures.
This year, extend the Father’s Day weekend at the lake with the Tahoe City Solstice Festival June 16-19. This three-day event brings artisan food and wine, acclaimed musicians and artists, adventure sports and celebrated local shops, restaurants and gallery exhibits, and local anniversarys to the shores of North Lake Tahoe.
Festival highlights include the Tahoe City Farmers Market on Thursday, June 16th, Classic Car Stroll on Friday the 17th, the Tahoe City Wine Walk on Saturday the 18th, and the summer’s first free Concert at Commons Beach performance on Sunday, featuring Dustbowl Revival and Sweetwater String Band. The weekend also includes a solstice paddle on the lake with Tahoe City Kayak, the Bridgetender Street Dance, Pete ’n Peter’s 40th anniversary party, and the kickoff of the Alpenglow Mountain Festival.
