2016 Lake Tahoe Fireworks Guide
Lake Tahoe is famous for its numerous spectacular Fourth of July fireworks displays. All over the area, the sky explodes with rainbows of light. And there’s plenty to celebrate on the ground as well. Here’s a quick and easy guide to some of the highlights and options for 2016...
First, a polite reminder and important request - PERSONAL FIREWORKS OF ANY KIND ARE ILLEGAL - AND NOT ALLOWED IN LAKE TAHOE! Fire danger is at an extreme high. Please heed this important rule and help keep Tahoe safe from devastating wildfires!
JULY 3rd - KINGS BEACH FIREWORKS AND BEACH PARTY - The festivities start a day early in Kings Beach, and this year Kings Beach is celebrating their many new improvements! On Sunday, July 3rd, from 4 pm on, you can head over to the North Tahoe Event Center and Kings Beach State Beach for all sorts of fun games and activities, a spectacular sunset, and fireworks at 9:30pm. Enjoy something to eat and drink out on the deck, then catch the the first fireworks of the long holiday weekend. JULY 2-4 - RED, WHITE & TAHOE BLUE 10th ANNUAL - INCLINE VILLAGE (July 2-4): NOTE: Access to Incline Beach for fireworks festivities & viewing requires an IVGID membership ID.
Red, White and Tahoe Blue is another awesome way to enjoy our country’s Independence at the Lake. Thanks to ten years of tremendous community support, there are numerous different events in Incline Village and Crystal Bay throughout the holiday weekend. The extravaganza of food, music, and entertainment comes to a crescendo with arguably the 'best' fireworks display in Lake Tahoe on July 4th at Incline Beach. NOTE: Access to Incline Beach for fireworks festivities & viewing requires an IVGID membership ID. Fireworks will start at approximately 9:30 pm. JULY 4 -HYATT REGENCY LAKE TAHOE JULY 4TH BBQ & CELEBRATION - Join the Hyatt Regency, Lake Tahoe for its annual BBQ and Fireworks Celebration. Admission includes an outdoor buffet dinner and two drink tickets for adults 21+. The Cottage Green is the perfect venue to watch the Incline Village’s fireworks display, voted one of the best in the country. More info...
JULY 4 - TAHOE CITY BEACH BASH & FIREWORKS - COMMONS BEACH: Tahoe City’s annual Independence Day Celebration will take place in downtown Tahoe City and at Commons Beach. Spend the day in town or at Commons Beach and enjoy the scene. The fireworks will be shot over Lake Tahoe so you can watch from the beach, the street, or any of Tahoe City's waterfront restaurants. You can also bring your boat and watch the show from the Lake (caution - low water levels). Fireworks will go off at approximately 9:15 pm. For more details, go to www.visittahoecity.org
JULY 4 - TRUCKEE - DONNER LAKE: Donner Lake has it’s own fantastic fireworks show at West End Beach. Following a day of festivities in Historic Downtown Truckee, including one of the best small town parades around, head to Donner Lake for the evening. Truckee Donner Parks & Rec, who put on the event, describe it as an old fashioned 4th of July celebration with games, live music, affordable food, and a spectacular fireworks display. Tickets for residents and homeowners are $6 each (proof of residency required, see link below). If you aren’t a resident, you can still enjoy a fun day at Donner Lake on the docks, swimming, boating, fishing, and fireworks can be seen from almost any location on or around the lake. JULY 4 - LIGHTS ON THE LAKE - SOUTH LAKE TAHOE: The American Pyrotechnics Association has rated South Shore’s Lights on the Lake celebration one of the top five displays in the nation This year's "Lights On Tahoe South" show is scheduled to begin at approximately 9:45 PM. The fireworks are visible from all over town, and even across the lake. Check out a complete list of viewing locations at www.tahoesouth.com.
JULY 4 - STAR SPANGLED SPARKS: 'Star Spangled Sparks' is touted as the region’s longest fireworks display and the biggest show in Northern Nevada. Set off from the roof of John Ascuaga’s Nugget while thousands of revelers celebrate on Victorian Square below and around Reno and Sparks. Live entertainment for the whole family, a kid’s area, and an array of food choices complete the evening. Fireworks are expected to start at about 9:45 pm.
