The "Battle Born" state was the 36th to enter the union on October 31, 1864. In commemoration, the parade is the largest and longest running admission's day celebration in the nation; this year's event will be the 77th annual and is held in Carson City, the state's capital. Over 200 entries (led by law enforcement and public officials) include floats, marching bands, horses, entertainers, youth groups, celebrity guests and even Burning Man creations.
