The grand opening of the Eriksson Education Center is being celebrated with the UC Davis 11th-annual Children’s Environmental Science Day (CESD) on Saturday, July 10, 2010, from 1 - 4 p.m., with an Open House following from 4 - 6 p.m.
Come see our new education center exhibits and take the opportunity to join in interactive games, get up close with fish and zooplankton from Lake Tahoe, learn about wetlands, test the water quality of a stream, climb inside an inflatable planetarium, visit with local scientists, tour the historic fish hatchery and research lab, and much more! This event is perfect for families or groups with kids ages 8 and up with an interest in the environment, nature, science and discovery.
CESD is a free community event providing children and their families a hands-on opportunity to explore various areas of environmental science with a special focus on Lake Tahoe. In addition to the UC Davis scientists, community organizations provide activities to teach children about the unique ecology, function, restoration and preservation of Lake Tahoe. Please join us for this year’s event as we expect it will be the biggest, best and most exciting one yet!
