Celebrate the Arts This July at Reno’s Month-Long Art’s Festival – Artown
For the entire month of July, Artown offers over 400 events ranging from live music, dance, theater and performances to visual arts, workshops, multicultural events and tours with more than 60 percent being free.
- A perfect complement to the Reno-Tahoe scene. All through July visitors can head to Tahoe for beach-time, paddle boarding, hiking or exploring the outdoors. Then head back to Reno for shopping, gaming, dining and a night filled with free entertainment options from Artown workshops, concerts, exhibits and more. It's like the cherry on top of your vacation sundae.
Free outdoor performances with picnics, friends, family and talent from across the nation and around the world. In 2011 artists from Honduras to Africa descended on the downtown Reno venue for weekly free performances. Previous year artists have included Richie Havens, Tiempo Libre, Afro-Cuban All Stars, Hudson Vagabond Puppets, The Funk Brothers, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Aurelio, Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys and Te Vaka. And that's just within the last three years.
- Festivities begin July 1 and continue through July 31.
