Squaw, Alpine Receive 5 to 6 Feet of Snow, Expand Terrain

After three days of storms, and up to six feet of new snow, Palisades Tahoe and Alpine Meadows have announced extensive expansion of skiable terrain, over 700% more than last week, with a combined 1550 acres and 21 lifts now in operation.

The merger of Palisades Tahoe and Alpine Meadows, announced in late September, has closed, according to a news release issued November 15th. In honor of the closing, the resulting new company has pledged $25,000 to local charities.

Following months of rumor and speculation, Palisades Tahoe and Alpine Meadows have now officially announced that they are, indeed, becoming one. Starting this winter, with both resorts under 'common ownership', skiers and riders will enjoy both mountains under one lift ticket and one season pass.

Alpine's Owner, JMA, Buys Great America
