Earth Day Festival Returns to Squaw Valley April 21

North Tahoe/Truckee's largest eco-event, the Tahoe-Truckee Earth Day Festival, returns to the Village at Palisades Tahoe on April 21st, inviting the local community to celebrate regional environmental initiatives and to participate in the National March for Science.

More Lifts, Terrain To Open at Squaw | Alpine

Following extensive snowmaking and ample recent snowfall, Palisades Tahoe | Alpine Meadows is set to open more lifts and terrain on Friday, Dec. 2nd. Summit chair will open at Alpine Meadows for top-to-bottom skiing and riding, and at Palisades Tahoe, two additional upper mountain lifts are scheduled.

Inaugural Great Trail Race This Sunday

The inaugural Great Trail Race, a newly created event to support Tahoe Nordic Search & Rescue, will be held Sunday, October 9, 2016, taking competitors on bikes and on foot from Tahoe City to Truckee.

Squaw Sets Early Opening Dates for Winter Season

Palisades Tahoe Alpine Meadows has announced plans to be 'first to open' for the coming winter season, with opening dates slated for between November 11th and 18th.

Tahoe Paddlefest & Lake Crossing This Weekend

Paddle enthusiasts from around the globe will gather for the Tahoe Fall Classic and Tahoe Vista Paddlefest, September 10 - 11 for a lively paddle-sports and community festival and the longest inland distance paddle race in the world.

Mt. Rose Extends Season Into May

Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe has announced it will extend its winter operations until Sunday, May 8th. The resort's high base elevation, starting at 8,260 feet, and abundant snowfall this season (up to 371 inches to date) is keeping mid-winter snow conditions and triggered the move to continue operations.

Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows Introduces 'Drink Mountain Tap' Initiative

Palisades Tahoe | Alpine Meadows has announced the new 'Drink Mountain Tap' program as part of its ongoing and multi-faceted environmental stewardship efforts. The new initiative includes introduction of reusable water bottles, water refill stations, and the elimination of the sale of disposable plastic water bottles at locations around the mountain and in the base area.

Tahoe's Flavorful Fall Fundraiser Returns Thursday

Passport to Dining, North Tahoe’s most flavorful fundraiser and a not-to-miss fall social gathering will take place on Thursday, November 9th at the Tahoe Biltmore in Kings Beach. This popular fundraiser for the North Tahoe Business Association features tastings from numerous local restaurants, caterers, breweries, wineries and distilleries as well as a raffle and silent auction.

Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows Opening Early

Let the fun begin! Ample early season snowfall has put ski season in to high gear, and Palisades Tahoe | Alpine Meadows, two of Tahoe's top mountains have announced an early opening scheduled for this week, with Alpine opening on Thursday, Nov. 12th and Palisades Tahoe on Saturday, November 14th. The announcement brings the current total resort open for the coming weekend to six, including Palisades Tahoe, Alpine Meadows, Northstar, Heavenly, Mt. Rose, and Boreal Mountain.
