HOMEWOOD, Calif. (Nov. 15, 2013) – Long known as one of the best places in Tahoe to learn to ski or snowboard, Homewood Mountain Resort is pleased to announce a new free lesson program designed to take intermediate/advanced skiers’ and riders’ skills to the next level.
Throughout the 2013-14 ski season, intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders are invited to meet Homewood’s best instructors at the top of the Old Homewood Express chairlift for a complimentary lesson and mountain tour. Lessons will begin at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., and instruction will focus on techniques designed to help experienced skiers/riders get the most out of their equipment while staying in control in all conditions – from powder to trees to steeps to variable snow.
“We are very excited to be able to offer this free lesson program to our guests this season,” said Snowsports Director Bryan Schilling. “There is always something new to learn when it comes to skiing and snowboarding, and there is no better way to improve, at any level, than with a professional instructor providing guidance. Plus, our instructors know the mountain better than anyone, so it should be a great way to discover new runs and terrain that few others know about.”
Schilling, a member of the prestigious Professional Ski Instructors of America Western Demo Team as well as the chair of the PSIA-W/AASI Education Foundation, will be staffing the free intermediate/advanced lessons with some of the very best instructors available in the Lake Tahoe region. In addition to offering advice on ski/snowboard technique, these instructors will be able to share wisdom on equipment setup, conditioning and the proper mental preparation for difficult terrain.

New 'Super Group' Advanced-beginner Lessons Also Available
For skiers and snowboarders still progressing to the confident intermediate level of skiing or riding, Homewood is also rolling out a new Super Group lesson program – featuring a maximum four-to-one student to instructor ratio and terrain-based learning on Homewood’s SmartSlopes™ sculpted beginner terrain as well as the upper mountain.
With Super Group 3-Packs starting at just $90/day – including all-mountain lift tickets, all-day rental packages, and half-day lessons – Homewood has made getting to the level of the free lesson program easy for aspiring skiers and riders.
Skiers in the new Super Group lesson program will focus on making the transition to linked parallel turns, while snowboarders will work on dynamically linking their turns on intermediate terrain.
