Carole Sesko, Visual Artist, Chair of Truckee Public Art Commission
Scientists have proved that looking at art gives the same pleasure as being in love. But what is art? What if you don't like the art you are looking at? What if talking about art makes you feel uncomfortable? "How to Look at Art" will discuss ways to examine an artwork beyond a casual glance, how to deepen your understanding, and how to make your own connection with artworks that challenge you. Utilizing examples of painting, sculpture, and architecture, this lively and inspiring presentation will give you new techniques to examine an artwork, analyze it from different perspectives, gain more understanding of the creative process, and lead yourself on a self guided journey of visual pleasure and discovery.
