A winter storm moving through the Sierra Nevada has left 16 inches of fresh snow at Palisades Tahoe and 17 inches at Alpine Meadows as of Friday afternoon, giving a welcome late season gift to eager skiers and snowboarders.

Celebrate the Earth and join Palisades Tahoe Alpine Meadows for the largest eco-event in the North Lake Tahoe and Truckee area. Truckee Tahoe Earth Day gives participants the opportunity to learn about earth-friendly practices including recycling, composting, alternative energy and sustainability. A diverse array of agency representatives and earth friendly vendors will be present to help participants learn more about how they can reduce their ecological footprint.

The 24th Annual Lake Cushing Crossing returns to Palisades Tahoe Saturday, April 12 with all the usual antics and spectacle as participants attempt to cross the chilly waters of Cushing Pond on skis, a snowboard or any ski or snowboard-based vessel including ultra-creative pond skimming contraptions and hilarious costumes.
