New Snow Extends Tahoe Ski Season

The recent Easter storm series left Palisades Tahoe with up to 20" of fresh snow and spectacular conditions, thrilling eager and hungry skiers and snowboarders, and prompting the resort to extend the season to at least April 19th.

A series of early April cold spring storms brought all variety of weather conditions to Lake Tahoe. This time lapse from April 6th captures a full day on Lake Tahoe from the Kings Beach pier, including melting snow from the Easter Sunday storm, waves building, people, clouds and storm cells growing and approaching across Lake Tahoe.

Two weeks ago, after this season's first event, "The Face" Banzai, held at Alpine Meadows, we thought it might have peaked, but as you can see in this video, the Kirkwood event took the level of competition even higher.
