Recent snowfall, cold temps, extensive snowmaking and another 6-8" overnight welcomed eager skiers and snowboarders to opening day of the season at Alpine Meadows on November 23rd. As snow continued to fall, skiers and snowboarders enjoyed the season's first turns off of Alpine Meadows' Kangaroo lift. Olympic Gold Medalist and Palisades Tahoe Alpine Meadows' Chief Mountain Host Jonny Moseley, Olympian and World Cup ski racer Travis Ganong, and Palisades Tahoe Alpine Meadows CEO, Andy Wirth were on hand to take part in the opening day excitement.

A Lake Tahoe icon, the Tahoe Queen paddlewheeler, was damaged recently by a fire which broke out on the morning of August 16th at the mooring in Zephyr Cove. The boat has been undergoing renovations.
