What To Do? New Year's Eve in North Lake Tahoe
North Lake Tahoe offers numerous options for partying it up on New Year's Eve. Here's a quick look at some of the top picks.
Squaw Valley USA
Squaw Valley will host an enormous New Year's Eve bash in the newly remodeled Olympic House at the base of the mountain. The party starts at 9pm and features live bands, DJ's, five bars and plenty of room for the usual revelry. Entry is $10 at the door (cash only) and guests must be 21 & older with a valid ID. Doors open at 9pm. Drink service until 1:30am. More info.
Squaw Valley is also hosting a special Family New Year's Eve celebration at High Camp at the top of the Cable Car. I'll be a fabulous night at elevation 8200’ with entertainment for the whole family. This all-ages soiree begins at 6pm and includes a starry-night Cable Car ride (guests should upload the 5, 5:15, 5:30 or 5:45pm Cable Car), spectacular surf and turf buffet dinner and music and dancing for the young and old alike. Bring in the new season with a 9 pm East Coast New Year’s champagne toast (with sparkling apple cider for the youngsters). And, you'll be back down to the Village to view the 9:30 New Year’s Eve Fireworks display.

Squaw Valley's popular Le Chamois will also hold a lively New Year's Eve bash, as will most all of the Squaw Valley establishments, including Mamasake.
Celebrate New Year's Eve with all your friends at the Village at Northstar with live music, polynesian dancers, fireworks, drink specials, shopping, dining, skating, and other fun for all ages! The celebration includes dinner at Baxter's Bistro, a candle-making party, live music from a Journey tribute band, polynesian dancers, and a spectacular fireworks display.
The Ritz-Carlton Lake Tahoe, located mid-mountain at Northstar, will also host an evening of festivities, including dining options and a special ballroom celebration.

Resort At Squaw Creek
Resort at Squaw Creek presents aNew Year's Eve Buffet Dinner and Grand Celebration. Executive Chef Jason Friendy and his team have gone all out with a menu sure to impress. But this event is far more than food. It's an entire night of entertainment with a magician, comedian Rick D'Elia (you may have seen on Comedy Central or The Tonight Show), DJ and dancing, a kid's play room next door (for the later hours), two toasts (one at 9 PM with cider; midnight with champagne), and late night munchies. Crystal Bay Casino
The Crystal Bay Casino is well known as the epicenter of entertainment on Lake Tahoe's North Shore, and New Year's Eve is always a special night. This year, Northern California singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Jackie Greene returns to the Crystal Bay Casino's Crown Room in support of the release of his sixth solo album, Till The Light Comes, a collection of ten new songs.
Following a special acoustic evening on Dec 30th, Jackie joins his band for New Year's Eve. This "standing room only" show will include a champagne toast at midnight, party favors and enough decibels to cover even the most boisterous revelers.
This show is sold out, but, Crystal Bay will have two FREE dance parties after the show, and of course, you can hang in the casino. Jake's On The Lake
Sitting lakeside in Tahoe City, Jake's on the Lake offers spectacular lake views and a big New Year's Celebration. West Shore Cafe'
Welcome 2011 with lakefront, gourmet decadence. The West Shore Café - recently reopened by JMA Ventures, LLC, which also owns Alpine Meadows and Homewood Mountain Resort - will host a New Year’s Eve menu, presenting a four-course, prix fixe menu complete with champagne. Taste Chef Bryce’s most creative celebratory dishes, including oyster-saffron bisque, frisee with pine nuts and burrata cheese, venison osso bucco; and a palate of desserts including Ghirardelli chocolate mousse.
New Year's Eve festivities planned for the West Shore Cafe include two rounds of dinner seating (5:45-6:15 p.m. and 8:45-9:15 p.m.) for a gourmet, four-course prix-fix menu (see below), with Champagne included! Prices will be $75 for adults and $25 for kids.
