The Village at Squaw Valley is paying tribute to man – and woman’s – best friend with the 8th Annual Peaks and Paws Festival. Dogs and their Masters can enjoy 2 days of live music, delicious food, and wine and beer tasting (people only!) amid Squaw Valley’s stunning mountain setting. The festival also includes a dog-friendly guided hike up the mountain, an array of specialty product pet vendors and a dock jumping competition with Splash Dogs. All of the proceeds from the festival will benefit the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe.
The Tahoe City Wine Walk on Saturday, June 17, 2017 runs along scenic North Lake Tahoe Boulevard and provides some of the best views of Lake Tahoe, the largest alpine lake in the country. The alfresco event, scheduled from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. will focus on varietals from area wine producers and will also feature gourmet bites from North Lake Tahoe’s top restaurants and catering companies. Many take the opportunity to sip, shop at Tahoe City’s unique establishments for signature wares and wrap up the day with dinner at one of Tahoe City’s many restaurants – all within walking distance of the event.
Tickets will go on sale soon and run $40/person in advance and $50/person at the event (cash only). Ticket price includes admittance, wine tasting, commemorative wine glass and bag, delicious bite-sized offerings, live music and free on-site parking. Attendees must be 21 years or older and show valid ID when purchasing tickets the day of the event.
The Tahoe City Wine Walk is a fundraiser for the Tahoe City Downtown Association. This non-profit organization consists of local merchants, property owners, community associations, residents, professionals and contributors whose goal it is to enhance and promote a vibrant and prosperous commercial and social center for the residents and visitors to Tahoe City.
The Burton Creek Trail Run takes place on a beautiful, fun and challenging trail system within Burton Creek State Park near Tahoe City, CA. The course features miles of single track through pine forests and high sierra meadows.
Burton Creek collects the runoff from the Mt. Watson watershed as it heads to into Lake Tahoe. You’ll see and hear the creek often and June is a great wildflower time of year as well. Choose between from the 6K, 12K, or Half Marathon. The Burton Creek Half Marathon is one of the best Lake Tahoe Half Marathons. Also bring the kids as we offer age appropriate distance kids races for those 4 and older.

XTERRA Tahoe City races celebrate the natural environment of Lake Tahoe’s excellent terrain, trails and blue water. Both the XTERRA Tahoe City and the XTERRA Lake Tahoe are qualifying races for the XTERRA USA Championship. Finish in the top 15 in your division and earn a spot on the starting line for the invitation-only XTERRA USA Championship held in September at Snowbasin Resort in Ogden, Utah. The XTERRA Tahoe City race is one of the races that make up the XTERRA US Point Series.

The 11th Annual Music on the Beach, a free outdoor concert series, will be held on consecutive Friday evenings, 6-8:30pm at Kings Beach State Recreation Area. The concert series will feature nine concerts starting June 30 through September 1, excluding August 11.

Incline Village comes to life July 1-4 during the much-anticipated Red, White and Tahoe Blue festival. The three-day patriotic event includes several parades, face painting, flag raising and lowering ceremonies, live music, a Tahoe Firecracker Trail Trek, Rubber Duck Race and more.
This week of fun, food, music, and entertainment culminate with arguably the best fireworks display in the country on July 4th at Incline Beach.
Fireworks will go from approx. 9:30 pm to 10 pm.

Lake Tahoe, Calif. – Homewood Mountain Resort celebrates Independence Day weekend with the Homewood Fine Arts and Crafts Festival taking place Saturday through Tuesday, July 1-4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This free event brings together an exciting group of more than 50 artists showcasing an assortment of collectable arts and crafts in a variety of media including paintings, ceramics, jewelry, woodwork, photography and much more. Homewood Mountain Resort is located off Highway 89, just 6 miles southwest of Tahoe City. Stroll the booths and rest with a delicious lunch at the Resort’s West Shore Cafe, open for lunch. In the afternoon step inside the 89 Bar and Grill for dinner and drinks, open from 3pm-11pm with live music on Saturday night.
Beerfest & Bluegrass Festival will take place in the Village at Northstar on Friday, July 2nd, 2017, from 3pm – 6:30pm. The festival will include beer tastings from numerous breweries and two premier bluegrass bands. Breweries will be featured on the Village Overlook, and guests who purchase a ticket will receive a commemorative pint glass and be able to sample all the different beers. There will also be non-alcoholic beverages and a tasty barbecue available for purchase, as well as seating and games on the village rink the whole family can enjoy.
The 38th annual July 3rd Fireworks & Beach Party will take place 4-10pm at the North Tahoe Event Center right on the beach at Kings Beach State Recreation Area. The Beach Party is a fundraiser for the Kings Beach fireworks and will include food vendors, a beer/wine and mixed drink garden, free watermelon eating and sand castle building contests, music, fireworks, glow toys, and more. Admission to the Beach Party is FREE!
Fireworks begin at 9:30 pm and are visible from all along the waterfront in Kings Beach.
